Ode to Twilight

I guess this post was bound to happen. I mean I am a little obsessed with the series. hmm actually obsessed is an understatement. Just look at the picture of a wall in my room. Sad thing is that was taken like in January and I have already added more to it. You'll see.

A question that I often ask myself ALL the time is why the heck I love this series so much. I mean honestly it is a book. It is not even a realistic book. Not like Pride and Prejudice. That is plausible, twilight is not. So why am I so into the book series?

As stupid as it might sound...twilight changed my life. Yeah I know REALLY lame when you think about it. I feel like drew barrymore in "Never Been Kiss" before the makeover. When i say twilight changed my life I envision myself with a sweater way to big for me, nasty stringy hair, with braces with food caught in them holding my precious book securely to my chest sighing as I say, "This book changed my life." I am just going to say it myself before anyone else can... LOSER!! I so use to make fun of those people. I mean i understand when a book is really good and is a nice escape but I never understood how a book could change your life...other than like spiritual books. (please don't get struck by lightning)

Well I am stepping out on my Loser Limb here and I am going to explain how this book did change my life and why I am so obsessed with it.

FIRST: i hated reading before I read twilight. Every book I was suppose to read in high school I probably read half of and then read the cliff notes for it and I only read the cliff notes if they were under 75 pages. The only school required book I actually read was Great Gatsby. That was it. Other than that book I read maybe half the harry potter series before I decided the books were way too long to read. So NO...I did not read before reading twilight. The fact that my sister in law even got me to read a book is just shy of a miracle. Yet she was very persuasive and wouldn't let me go home until I took twilight. So I took it home and put it on my desk where it sat for a few days. Then out of no where a few of my friends started talking about it and how I NEEDED to read the book. And like most things in my life, my curiosity got the best of me.

So I walked over to my desk and I stared at the cover for a few moments thinking, "Man this book better be worth it because I could be catching up on my House episodes right now." I sat on my bed and I started reading. Mind you that I was already angry at the book and wanted to read it just so I could say how crappy it was and NOT life altering it was. Darn you Karma. She kicked me in the butt and she kicked me good. I sat and read that book from cover to cover in two days. I think I managed like maybe 7 hours of sleep in two days. The real evil thing is that the first chapter for New Moon was in the back of Twilight, which I read, which I quickly ran to my car with the book and drove over to my brothers house to get New Moon. So Twilight for some reason got me into reading. Now I seek after books, any book, just to read. I love doing in and I hate being in school because I don't have time to read like I want to.

SECOND way twilight changed my life: It is really sad how many friends I have that we became friends only because we both loved twilight so much. Really sad! I really do have friends that we would not be friends if it wasn't for twilight. Like that is pretty much the only thing we have in common. What else is sad is how many of my friendships have gotten a stronger bond because of twilight. I mean some of my friends I was close with but once we both realized how much we loved twilight, it is like we became a whole new level of friends. Almost like you can't ever hate each other because of this bond. Ok maybe a little bit of a stretch but not too much.

THIRD: My world of music has atleast tripled because of twilight. With all the soundtracks, Stephenie Meyers Playlists and Fan playlist I have heard so many new artist and songs. Then i have my Smart DJ to introduce me to more songs just like the ones I have. It is crazy. Like I can't get enough music. I am just waiting for the day when my computer says it has no memory left and the vast majority of it will be because of music. How wicked awesome would that be? Then i'll have to get two computers: one for just music and media stuff and another for actual work stuff. Yeah I am already liking this idea.

FOURTH reason twilight has changed my life is that I have gained a whole new understanding of what type of guy I want. And no I don't mean Jacob or Edwards...although I wouldn't mind a combination of the two... Jacobs body and dark skin with Edwards ability to be perfect and his hair. I do love his hair. No! I am not talking about those two. I am talking about Emmett. Oh Emmett how I love you! Every time Emmett had a line in the book I feel in love and then when they got Kellan to be Emmett, well... It just went way downhill WAY fast. Tall, Buff, Witty, Athletic and he knows how to fix and install stuff. Oh yeah he is by far the hottest type of boy. Seriously could you not see Emmett, shirtless installing Bella's stereo? Even him playing baseball was hot in my mind. None the Less twilight showed me that guys like that can exist even if it is in another world. I mean there had to be a basis for Stephenies Emmett character. He does exist. What makes it even better than that is the fact that each morning I get to wake up to him. Creepy some times but AWESOME most of the time. On Friday for the release parties for New Moon I basically won a life size cut out of EMMETT!!! HOLLA!! and by "basically" I mean the girl let me buy it for 5 bucks instead of 30 all because I had gotten this wicked awesome werewolf scar at another release party and the girl loved it so much and because I was able to answer all her trivia questions and the flavor of blood. It was probably the highlight of my week/month/ life! SO not only is he hot and great to look at when I wake up, but I also have so much fun with my fake Emmett by placing him in the dark in my roomates rooms. HAHA still makes me laugh my head off.

Seriously... you know that is hot and your jealous! Just admit it. :)
